Joe loved boating throughout his entire life. He raced sailboats in his earlier years and power boats and cruising later on. He enjoyed golf, skiing, hunting, cross country, reading, and the game of "GIN".

He was a member of Naples Yacht Club, Port Royal Club, Hole in the Wall, and Horse Shoe Bay Golf Club.

He was Commodore of Naples, Milwaukee and South Shore Yacht Clubs and LMYA. Most of all he was a passionate family man and was a believer and benefactor for the cause of education. He is now captaining his ship in heaven and overseeing his fleet.
