Joseph "Joe" LaRochelle, 87, of Naples, Florida passed away on May 18, 2017, after a long illness. He was born in Sanford, Maine on August 22, 1929 to Paul and Alice (nee Michaud) LaRochelle. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jocelyne (nee Gelinas) LaRochelle also of Naples. He moved to Naples in 1965, after working for Pratt Whitney in Connecticut and Catalina Airlines in California. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Naples Police Department where he primarily patrolled the waterfront.

Joseph "Joe" LaRochelle, 87, of Naples, Florida passed away on May 18, 2017, after a long illness. He was born in Sanford, Maine on August 22, 1929 to Paul and Alice (nee Michaud) LaRochelle. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jocelyne (nee Gelinas) LaRochelle also of Naples. He moved to Naples in 1965, after working for Pratt Whitney in Connecticut and Catalina Airlines in California. Joe is preceded by his son, Jean Paul LaRochelle, his parents, his sister Jeanne Dupuis of Montreal, Canada, his brothers Leo LaRochelle of Maine, and Donald LaRochelle of Connecticut. He is survived by his sisters, Theresa Rivard of Maine, Yvette Cote of Florida, and Dorothy Glaude of New Hampshire, his brother-in-law, Robert Gelinas and sister-in-law Violette Gelinas, both of Montreal, Canada. He will be missed by many, many niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Joe had many hobbies and interests. He was the champion pool shark in Naples, loved his Corvette and motorcycles. He loved the city of Naples and would always bring visiting family and friends on a tour of the city ending with a sunset walk on the pier. He had a great sense of humor and often had special nicknames for his nieces. His great love of family, no matter the distance, was evident in each phone call and visit. The family would like to thank his dear friends that came to visit during his illness.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 1st from 11:00 am until time of Memorial Mass at 12:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 625-111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108.
